Narrative

Marriage settlement of William Price, gent., son and heir of John Price, and Elyn Owen, one of daughters of (ii), indented. (2 copies).
(i) John Pryce of Penarth, co. Mtg., gent., Magdalen his wife, and Margaret Busher of Aberhavesp, co. Mtg.
(ii) Morice Owen of Hewsayson [Rhiwsaeson] co. Mtg., esq.
1. (i) covenant to convey to trustees (named), capital messuage and appurts. called Pennarth [Penarth], and mill adjoining in Newtowne [Newtown]. co. Mtg.; messuage and appurts. called Pennarth issa in Newtown; messuages and appurts. in Newtown in tenure of Evan Gruffyth, Morice Gwyn, clerk, Thomas ap William, Thomas Powelle, John Owen; annuity of £4 from messuage where Reygnald David lives in Gwesteed [Gwestydd], co. Mtg., and all other messuages of John Price, except messuage and appurts. called y Vachwen in Aberhavesp, to uses specified.
2. John Price to have premises during life of Margaret Busher and 3 yrs. for £30 p.a.
3. If William Price die within Margaret Busher's lifetime or 3 foll. years, John Price to pay Elyn £40 p.a. until y Vachwen and part of Penarth Issa in tenure of Thos.Halle be conveyed to her as jointure in lieu of Penarth.
4. Magdalen, wife of John Price, to have £30 p.a. during widowhood.
5. Wm. Price and Elyn to have £30 p.a. after 1 Jan. 1619 during life of Margaret Busher.
6. John Price covenants to redeem mortgaged premises in Newtown.
7. If John Price pay £100 to Edward Whittingham and Bridgett, his wife, secured on y Vachwen, and within 3 yrs. of Margaret Busher's death, convey y Vachwen and part of Penarth Issa in tenure of Thomas Halle to William Price and Elyn, his wife, conveyance of Penarth to be void.
8. (ii) to pay £220 of which £30 already paid, to John Price, and to give Wm. Price 10 kine, 4 oxen, 60 ewes or £50 in lieu.
